Job Description

AIR Worldwide (AIR) is the scientific leader and most respected provider of risk modeling software and consulting services. AIR founded the catastrophe modeling industry in 1987 and today models the risk from natural catastrophes and terrorism in more than 90 countries. AIR’s software and services use sophisticated analytics to inform insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and hedge funds on how to manage their risk including where to expand and retract, how to optimize portfolios, and how to structure various risk strategies. We are currently looking for an intelligent, highly motivated, manager for our Business Development Group. Ideally, you will have a background related to our business and will have managed a staff. Initially, we will ask that you learn the key scientific tenets and statistics that underpin our models as well as the software applications on which the models operate. You will work with professionals across AIR in a collaborative manner, and work closely with our clients and prospects to understand their business needs, ultimately supporting them and their clients to achieve their business goals. At the same time, we look expand those relationships and ultimately continue to grow AIR’s market share.

Main responsibilities (but not limited to):
• Manage and mentor a team of seasoned account managers toward the company goals
• Expand use and understanding of AIR modeling within our clients and prospects
• Manage major client accounts to ensure retention and identify new sales opportunities
• Work with qualified prospects to demonstrate how AIR’s leading-edge products will meet their needs
• Work with a high-powered team of professionals to understand sophisticated risk-modeling techniques and to identify new marketing approaches
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and yearly goals and objectives and track the company’s progress in achieving them
• Assist in developing marketing materials and presentations for clients and prospects that manage large investment and insurance portfolios

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to open doors to, and work with client and prospect C-suite
• Senior level professionalism and behavior in approach to all tasks
• Energy and self-motivation is a must
• Excellent written, presentation, communication and demonstration skills
• Ability to uncover client needs through examination and understanding of their systems and processes
• Aptitude for working with complex software applications
• Ability to follow through the sales process from initiating to closing the sale
• Superior level of organization and responsiveness
• Knowledge of at least one of the following areas a plus:
• P&C insurance industry
• Risk management software applications
• Underwriting or actuarial experience

Requirements:
• Some travel required
• Proven track record in sales or solid potential
• 3+ years in the reinsurance industry as a senior level manager
• Manage sales or similar group
• BS or BA degree in a quantitative field
• MBA a plus
